The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) application is now OPEN! This program provides paid summer work experience to young adults ages 14 to 24. Apply by March 1!

The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) is the nation’s largest youth employment program, connecting NYC youth between the ages of 14 and 24 with career exploration opportunities and paid work experience each summer.

Through SYEP, participants can explore different interests and career pathways, develop productive workplace habits, and engage in learning experiences that strengthen their social, civic, and leadership skills.

By participating in structured project and work-based opportunities, NYC youth are better prepared for careers of the future.

Residents at Mayor’s Action Plan for Neighborhood Safety (MAP) developments will receive reserved slots with select providers via the MAP to $uccess program. Residents at select developments are eligible for the SYEP NYCHA CareerFIRST program. NYCHA residents ages 14-24 living outside of the target developments will receive priority in the general citywide SYEP application.

SYEP MAP 2 $uccess and CareerFIRST developments have dedicated providers to support youth with their SYEP experience. Youth applications for these developments will be routed directly to the corresponding provider listed below based on the applicant’s address.
