Andromeda Community Initiative [ACI] is a not-for-profit organization that provides professional development opportunities, free educational and workforce development programs, and job-related training that prepares students for gainful employment in the field of construction. We offer two programs: Environmental Remediation Training Program and Green Construction Training Program.

Environmental Remediation Training Program

  • Eligibility: Young adults ages 18–24

This 8-week, full-time training program provides hands-on training, industry-recognized certifications, work readiness preparation, and job placement assistance upon successful completion.

Participants will have the opportunity to earn certifications including:

  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety
  • OSHA HAZWOPER
  • EPA Lead Renovator (RRP)
  • Asbestos Handler Certification
  • OSHA Confined Spaces
  • NYC DOB Site Safety Training (SST)
  • Supported & Suspended Scaffold User
  • NYC DOT Flagger
  • 2-Hour Silica Awareness Training

Green Construction Training Program

  • Eligibility: Individuals 18 years of age and older who are interested in pursuing a career in construction.

Participants will have the opportunity to earn the following certifications:

  • NYC DOB 10-Hour Site Safety Training (SST) Card
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Training
  • NYC DOB 4-Hour Supported Scaffold User
  • NYC DOB 16-Hour Suspended Scaffold User
  • NYC DOT 4-Hour Flagger
  • 2-Hour Silica Awareness Training Course
  • GPRO-M
  • EPA 608 Type I Certification

Both programs are designed to provide participants with the technical skills, certifications, and career readiness support needed to begin successful careers in the construction industry.
