Need help with filing your taxes? Join a virtual information session on March 12 about NYC Free Tax Prep. If you earned $97,000 or less with qualifying children and/or dependents, or $68,000 without qualifying children and/or dependents in 2025, you can now file your taxes for free with an IRS-certified VITA/TCE volunteer preparer.  Follow these steps to register for this event in Opportunity Connect on the NYCHA self-service portal:

1. Register for online access and/or log in to the NYCHA self-service portal https://selfserve.nycha.info/
2. Once you are logged in, click on “Manage Your Account.”
3. Click on the “Opportunity Connect” icon.
4. Go to “Upcoming Events” on the left menu.
5. Select NYC Free Tax Prep Information Session 3/12/26 on the list of upcoming events and click on “view details”.
6. You must read and confirm the “Information Sharing and Consent Statement” to continue to the final RSVP step.
7. Click “RSVP”.
8. Check your email for confirmation once you RSVP. Note: In Opportunity Connect you can check “My Events” on the left menu at any time to see all your scheduled events. You can also cancel or reschedule.
