Queens Hiring Event with Workforce1 (In-Person)

 

Event Description:

The Queens Workforce1 Career Center, in partnership with NYCHA REES, is hosting a free in-person hiring event at Latimer Gardens’ Community Center. NYCHA residents seeking employment are invited to meet with job recruiters. Residents can also receive information about job training grants and opportunities, free financial counseling, resume & interview workshops, and additional resources.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must bring photo identification to verify date of birth
  • Registration of free membership with Workforce1 required to receive services. To become a free member of Workforce1 in advance of the hiring event, you may complete a membership application online at www.nyc.gov/workforce1.

  • Professional attire is recommended for interviews with recruiters

  1. Register for online access & log-in to self-service portal https://selfserve.nycha.info/which will allow you to manage your own events.
  2. Once you are logged in, Click “View Details.”
  3. Click “Opportunity Connect” on the bottom left side.
  4. Click “Upcoming Events”on the left side.
  5. Select “Query.”
  6. Go to the “Event Name” 
  7. Type exactly as shown here (case sensitive): WF1 Queens 5-25-23
  8. Press Enter.
  9. Click “View Details.“
  10. Click “RSVP“
  11. Check your email for confirmation once you RSVP. Check “My Events” to see all your scheduled events.
