Thinking about buying a first home? Not sure where to start?

Topics will include understanding the mortgage process, credit, down payment/closing cost assistance, etc. etc.  The seminar will last 2 hours including questions and be available to NYCHA residents.  The seminar will be conducted either on the Zoom platform or WebEx.  Participants who don’t have a computer/smart phone/tablet will be able to listen on their phones, although they will be unable to view any images.

The speakers will consist of NHS of Staten Island, a real estate attorney, lender, real estate agent, and home inspector.

NHS’s Homeownership Advisor will guide you through home purchase.

  • Individualized Home Buyer Action Plan specific to your needs.
  • Negotiation with the banks to get you pre-approved at the best rate possible.
  • Home Shopping Guidance to Get You the Lowest Price Possible on Your New Home.
  • Connection to the best home purchase & finance incentives available.
  • Debt analysis and repair as needed.

Follow these steps to register for this event in the NYCHA self-service portal – https://selfserve.nycha.info/

  1. Register for online access & log-in to self-service portal https://selfserve.nycha.info/ which will allow you to manage your own events.
  2. Once you are logged in, Click “Manage your Account.”
  3. Click “Opportunity Connect” on the bottom left side.
  4. Click “Upcoming Events” on the left side.
  5. Select “Query.”
  6. Go to the “Event Name” column.
  7. Type exactly as shown here (case sensitive): Neighborhood Housing Services Staten Island 5-13-2025 (N4SF)
  8. Press Enter.
  9. Click “View Details.“
  10. Click “RSVP.“
  11. Check your email for confirmation once you RSVP. Check “My Events” to see all of your scheduled events.
