NYCHA residents of Astoria Houses, Queensbridge Houses, Ravenswood Houses, or Woodside Houses* may be eligible for the “Linking Interests to Careers Program” at LaGuardia Community College for residents 18 years and older. This program offers partial scholarships towards certificate programs at LaGuardia Community College.

  • Clinical Medical Assistant
  • Data Analytics (Intermediate)
  • English as a Second Language
  • Medical Interpreter

Important Note:

Please note that any NYCHA resident interested in attending LaGuardia Community College is welcome to join an information session. However, please be advised that the “Linking Interests to Careers Program” scholarship at LaGuardia Community College is currently only available to NYCHA residents of Astoria, Queensbridge, Ravenswood, and Woodside Houses. Please note there are other scholarship and financial aid opportunities, if interested.

Location (Virtually): Virtual meeting on Zoom.

Those who RSVP will receive an email notification with meeting information prior to the event. Please confirm that your email and telephone number is correct in the NYCHA Self-Service online system to receive event notifications. Please follow these steps to register for this event in the NYCHA self-service portal: https://selfserve.nycha.info/

  1. Register for online access & log-in to self-service portal https://selfserve.nycha.info/which will allow you to manage your own events.
  2. Once you are logged in, Click “View Details.”
  3. Click “Opportunity Connect” on the bottom left side.
  4. Click “Upcoming Events”on the left side.
  5. Select “Query.”
  6. Go to the “Event Name” column
  7. Type exactly as shown here (case sensitive):  Linking Interest to Careers 9-27-2023
  8. Press Enter.
  9. Click “View Details.“
  10. Click “RSVP“
  11. Check your email for confirmation once you RSVP. Check “My Events” to see all your scheduled events.
