Please join us at this information session to learn more about Manhattan Educational Opportunity Center’s (MEOC) free Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) and Security Officer Training programs. Job placement assistance is available upon completion. Read below for important details.
Certified Nurse Aide (CNA)
- Students prepare to care for individuals in nursing homes. Students prepare for the New York State C.N.A. exam and become CPR certified
Security Officer Training
- 8-hour pre-assignment and 16-hour job training
- Preparation for NYC Fire Guard certification will be provided
- NYS Security License
Enrollment Requirements:
- High School Diploma or High School Equivalency (GED)
- TABE Test Minimum Scores
- CNA – Reading: 10/ Math: 10
- Security: Reading 8.0
- 18 years of age or olders
- NOT a college graduate
- US citizen, Permanent Resident or Refugee
Documents to Bring to Info Session (Required for Testing):
- Resident will take the TABE test at the Info Session after submitting documents
- High School Diploma or High School Transcript (U.S. or Foreign Diploma) or Official GED Records or GED Transcript;
- Provide New York State Residency for a year (prior to enrollment);
- Provide Documentation of income current applicable tax year (ex. 2012 1040 tax return, Budget Letter, Social Security, Unemployment/Workers Comp letter, Child Support letter);
- Income support received from spouse or parents must be provided with the applicant name on document;
- Valid Photo ID
