The NRTA  is recruiting Sandy affected residents for opportunities in Sandy Recovery Work. Take the first step today!

REES will be hosting an offsite TABE (Test for Adult Basic Education) for the NRTA Construction track on

Thursday, February 4th at 9:30 a.m.

 @ the Carey Gardens Community Center – 2315 Surf Avenue Brooklyn, NY 11224

In the NYCHA Resident Training Academy (NRTA) successful applicants will receive 8 weeks of FREE full-time training which includes OSHA 10 certification, 5 hour suspended scaffolding, 4 hour asbestos awareness and 4 hour confined space hazard awareness plus job placement assistance with private employers.  You must meet these qualifications in order to participate:

  • Be a valid NYCHA resident
  • Have valid working documentation
  • Be able to work for 8 hours on your feet
  • Be able to pass a drug test
  • Be able to qualify at a 7.0 reading/math level
  • Be 18 years old or over
  • Have a High School Diploma, or GED
