The Commonpoint Workforce Department is thrilled to be working with DYCD Workforce Connect and the DYCD Youth Employment Programs to present Advance & Earn, a unique new program for young people between the ages of 17-24 who are not currently working or attending school and live in any of the 5 boroughs of New York City.

AGES:

Young Adults (Ages 17-24)

The Advance & Earn Program will provide you with:

  • Pre-HSE – Literacy and math skills instruction
  • HSE Test Preparation (GED)
  • College access and application process
  • Credentials, and Certifications
  • SafeServ – Food Handling – Culinary Arts
  • MOS – Microsoft Office Specialist
  • Medical Training
  • EKG / Phlebotomy
  • CNA – Certified Nursing Assistant
  • Career counseling and job placement
  • Paid Internships
  • Incentives
  • Metrocards and more.

 

Get paid through exciting internships with high-growth industries in NYC!

 

Eligibility requirements include:

  • Young people between the ages of 17 and 24 years old
  • Residents of one of the five boroughs of New York City
  • Currently not working or in school
  • Willing to commit six months to the program
  • Legally authorized to work in New York City

Steps to Register in NYCHA Self Service

Follow these steps to register for this event in the NYCHA self-service portal – https://selfserve.nycha.info/

  1. Register for online access & log-in to the self-service portal https://selfserve.nycha.info/which will allow you to manage your own events.
  2. Once you are logged in, Click “View Details.”
  3. Click “Opportunity Connect” on the bottom left side.
  4. Click “Upcoming Events”on the left side.
  5. Select “Query.”
  6. Go to the “Event Name”  Type exactly as shown here (case sensitive): Common Point Advance & Earn 6-21-2023
  7. Press Enter.
  8. Click “View Details.“
  9. Click “RSVP“
  10. Check your email for confirmation once you RSVP. Check “My Events” to see all of your scheduled events.
