For individuals ages 17-24 who already have a HS diploma or equivalent, and who are not enrolled in college and don’t have a college degree, we offer a variety of high-demand certifications in the medical field. These certifications include EKG/Phlebotomy Tech and Certified Nurse Aide, which are offered through Access Institute and LaGuardia Community College.

Services include:

  • Work Readiness and Support Skills Classes

  • Job Placement Assistance

Eligibility requirements include:

•                      Young people between the ages of 17 and 24 years old

•                      Residents of one of the five boroughs of New York City

•                      Currently not working or in school

•                      Willing to commit six months to the program

•                      Legally authorized to work in New York City

Follow these steps to register for this event in the NYCHA self-service portal – https://selfserve.nycha.info/

1.       Register for online access & log-in to the self-service portal https://selfserve.nycha.info/ which will allow you to manage your own events.

2.       Once you are logged in, Click “View Details.”

3.       Click “Opportunity Connect” on the bottom left side.

4.       Click “Upcoming Events” on the left side.

5.       Select “Query.”

6.       Go to the “Event Name” column. Type exactly as shown here (case sensitive): Common Point Advance & Earn 10-5-2023

7.       Click “View Details.“

8.       Click “RSVP.“

9.       Check your email for confirmation once you RSVP. Check “My Events” to see all of your scheduled events.
