BuildingWorks Info Session for Carpenters Union Pre-Apprenticeship Program

Ready to Join the Carpenters Union? Attend a BuildingWorks Information Session!

BuildingWorks is a pre-apprenticeship training that prepares you for the NYC District Council of Carpenters Apprenticeship. Classes are held at the Carpenters Training Center in Lower Manhattan, and some classes are conducted virtually.

  • Sessions include: an introduction to the Carpenters Apprenticeship, basic skills for the trade and worker safety training.
  • Classes are offered in multi-week cycles scheduled throughout the year.
  • Successful BuildingWorks graduates may be recommended to begin the Carpenter’s Union Apprenticeship, securing a career with high earning potential and an attractive benefit package.

Training Dates: Monday, May 4 – Friday, May 29, 2026; Mon-Fri, 7am-4pm

(Application Deadline: Monday, April 27 at 12noon)

Follow these steps to register for this event in Opportunity Connect on the NYCHA self-service portal:

1. Register for online access and/or log in to the NYCHA self-service portal https://selfserve.nycha.info/

2.  Once you are logged in, click on “Manage Your Account.”

3. Click on the “Opportunity Connect” icon.

4.  Go to “Upcoming Events” on the left menu.

5.  Select BuildingWorks Information Session 4-23-2026 on the list of upcoming events and click on “View Details”.

6. You must read and confirm the “Information Sharing and Consent Statement” to continue to the final RSVP step.

7.  Click “RSVP”.

Check your email for confirmation once you RSVP. Note: In Opportunity Connect you can check “My Events” on the left menu at any time to see all your scheduled events. You can also cancel or reschedule.
