The West Farms Workforce1 Center is hosting a Virtual Hiring event for Amazon and other employers on Friday Dec 17th, Qualified candidates will be contacted and pre-screened for these position.

 

Amazon Overview:

Amazon is a Fortune 500 e-commerce company based in Seattle, Wash. It has the distinction of being one of the first large companies to sell goods over the Internet.

Delivery Walker:

Amazon is looking for dedicated individuals who are inspired and motivated to work smart and work hard in a team environment. As a delivery walker, you will be the face of our company. It will be your job to consistently exceed customer expectations by making sure all orders are delivered with a smile, on time, safely, and to the right location.

Qualifications: 

  • Load and deliver packages via hand truck
  • Be able to walk anywhere between 6 to 10 miles daily to make deliveries
  • Must be able to move boxes up to 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation
  • 6 months to 1 year of experience in relevant field

Application Requirements:

Must be at least 18 to 24 years of age to apply; must be registered as a Workforce1 member. Workforce staff can assist with the registration process. All participants MUST have a resume.

  1. Register for online access & log-in to self-service portal https://selfserve.nycha.info/ which will allow you to manage your own events.
  2. Once you are logged in, Click “View Details.”
  3. Click “Opportunity Connect” on the bottom left side.
  4. Click “Upcoming Events” on the left side.
  5. Select “Query.”
  6. Go to the “Event Name” column.
  7. Type exactly as shown here (case sensitive):  WF1 West Farms 12-17-2021
  8. Press Enter.
  9. Click “View Details.“
  10. Click “RSVP.“
  11. Check your email for confirmation once you RSVP. Check “My Events” to see all of your scheduled events.
