Astoria Houses residents seeking resources to assist with rental arrears, groceries, financial counseling, or employment assistance may register to attend a collaborative Financial Resources Event, featuring the New York City Human Resources Administration’s (HRA) Department of Social Services on Thursday, January 25. HRA will provide onsite application assistance to Astoria Houses residents interested in applying for HRA benefits. In addition, Jobs-Plus of Astoria will be present to share about their free financial counselling services and employment assistance, in collaboration with NYCHA REES office, Astoria Houses Property Management, and the Astoria Houses Resident Association.

 

Important Note: Please be advised that this event is for Astoria Houses residents only. Please note there are a limited number of appointments, and registration is required to attend. Please review the RSVP instructions below. Thank you.

 

Documents needed to apply for HRA Benefits:

  • NYCHA Letter of Rent Owed
  • Last 4 Pay Stubs
  • NYCHA Rent Bill
  • Rent Receipts
  • Letter of Employment
  • Proof of Identification
  • Social Security Card
  • Birth Certificate
  • School Enrollment Letter
  • Social Security Award Letter

  1. Register for online access & log-in to self-service portal https://selfserve.nycha.info/which will allow you to manage your own events.
  2. Once you are logged in, Click “View Details.”
  3. Click “Opportunity Connect” on the bottom left side.
  4. Click “Upcoming Events”on the left side.
  5. Select “Query.”
  6. Go to the “Event Name” 
  7. Type exactly as shown here (case sensitive): Jobs Plus Astoria Financial Resources Event 1-25-2023
  8. Press Enter.
  9. Click “View Details.“
  10. Click “RSVP“
  11. Check your email for confirmation once you RSVP. Check “My Events” to see all your scheduled events.
