The Doe Fund is a nonprofit organization that provides paid transitional work, housing, educational opportunities, counseling, and career training to people with histories of homelessness, incarceration, and substance abuse.

Residents receive:
TRANSITIONAL WORK: After orientation, earn $17/hr while developing essential workplace skills. By the end of the program, you will have savings and a financial plan.
SUPPORT SERVICES: Work one-on-one with a case manager to overcome addiction and set goals for your life and career.
EDUCATION: Improve literacy, learn how to use computers, and prepare for the modern workplace.
JOB TRAINING: Receive instruction for careers including building maintenance, commercial driving, construction, culinary arts, HVAC, security, and more.
JOB & HOUSING ASSISTANCE: Our staff will help you find a job and a place to live.
Eligibility:
- At least 18 years old
- Currently unemployed
- Able to lift at least 30 lbs and able to perform work assignments standing
- Legally able to work in New York
- Commitment to sobriety for the duration of the program
Follow these steps to register for this event in Opportunity Connect on the NYCHA self-service portal:
1. Register for online access and/or log in to the NYCHA self-service portal https://selfserve.nycha.info/
2. Once you are logged in, click on “Manage Your Account.”
3. Click on the “Opportunity Connect” icon.
4. Go to “Upcoming Events” on the left menu.
5. Select The Doe Fund 8-6-2026 on the list of upcoming events and click on “view details”.
6. You must read and confirm the “Information Sharing and Consent Statement” to continue to the final RSVP step.
7. Click “RSVP”.
