This assessment exams are conducted in-person at 787 Atlantic Avenue. Residents are required to bring a pen and photo ID to the testing session.

To qualify for training, you must:

  • Be a NYCHA resident on the lease
  • Be 18 years old or over
  • Have valid working documentation
  • Be able to work for 8 hours on your feet
  • Be able to pass a drug test
  • Be able to pass the TABE test at a 70% reading/math level
  • No High School Diploma, or GED is required

  1. Register for online access and/or log-in to the NYCHA self-service portal https://selfserve.nycha.info/
  2. Once you are logged in, Click “Manage Your Account.”
  3. Click “Opportunity Connect” icon.
  4. Go to “Upcoming Events” on the left menu.
  5. Select NRTA Janitorial Assessment Tuesday January 20, 2026 In-Person as shown here (case sensitive): on the list of upcoming events and click “view details“
  6. You must read and confirm the “Information Sharing and Consent Statement” to continue to the final RSVP step.
  7. Click “RSVP.“
