We are actively recruiting NYCHA residents for a variety of programs designed to enhance your skills and career prospects. Explore our offerings, including Home Health Aide (HHA), Patient Care Technician (PCT), Medical Assistant (MA), High School Equivalency (HSE), Doula, Phlebotomy, Security Guard Training, and Master Barber Certification. Bronx Education Opportunity Center (Bx EOC) is recruiting NYCHA residents for the following programs:
- Home Health Aide (HHA)
- Patient Care Technician (PCT)
- High School Equivalency (HSE)
- Medical Assistant (MA)
- Master Barber Certification
- Security Guard Training
- Doula
- Phlebotomy
Enrollment Requirements:
- High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma for Vocational Training Programs
- Must take TABE test
- 18 years of age or older
- NOT a college graduate
- US citizen, Permanent Resident or Refugee
- New York State Resident for a year (prior to enrollment)
- Meet low-income guidelines
What to expect at the Information Session:
- Residents interested will be registered for the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) at the information session
- Learn about the application process and eligibility requirements
- Review of the document check list
Follow these steps to register for this event in Opportunity Connect on the NYCHA self-service portal:
- Register for online access and/or log in to the NYCHA self-service portal https://selfserve.nycha.info/
- Once you are logged in, click on “Manage Your Account.”
- Click on the “Opportunity Connect” icon.
- Go to “Upcoming Events” on the left menu.
- Select Bronx Educational Opportunity Center 9-17-2025 on the list of upcoming events and click on “view details”.
- You must read and confirm the “Information Sharing and Consent Statement” to continue to the final RSVP step.
- Click “RSVP”.
Check your email for confirmation once you RSVP. Note: In Opportunity Connect you can check “My Events” on the left menu at any time to see all your scheduled events. You can also cancel or reschedule.
