Free Virtual First-Time Homebuyer Seminar

 Thinking about buying a first home? Not sure where to start?

​Topics will include understanding the mortgage process, credit, down payment/closing cost assistance, etc. etc.  The seminar will last between 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours including questions and be available to NYCHA residents.  The seminar will be conducted on the Zoom platform.  Participants who don’t have a computer/smart phone/tablet will be able to listen on their phones, although they will be unable to view any images.

The speakers will consist of NHS of Brooklyn, a real estate attorney, lender, real estate agent, and home inspector.

Date: Wednesday, July 9, 2025

Time: 6:00pm – 8:00pm

Location: Virtual Platform

Upon Registration, a REES staff member will contact you with further instructions.

  1. Register for online access and/or log-in to the NYCHA self-service portal https://selfserve.nycha.info/
  2. Once you are logged in, click “Manage Your Account.”
  3. Click “Opportunity Connect” icon.
  4. Go to “Upcoming Events” on the left menu.
  5. Select NAME OF EVENT as shown here (case sensitive): NHS of Brooklyn 7-9-2025 on the list of upcoming events and click “view details“
  6. You must read and confirm the “Information Sharing and Consent Statement” to continue to the final RSVP step.
  7. Click “RSVP.“

Check your email for confirmation once you RSVP. Note: In Opportunity Connect you can check “My Events” on the left menu at any time to see all your scheduled events. You can also cancel or reschedule.
