The NYCHA Resident Training Academy is hosting an In-Person Assessment at the Jobs Plus- East Side House Settlement for various upcoming NRTA trainings.

JANITORIAL TRAINING

  • 3 Weeks of in-person full-time training*
  •  Earn industry Certification.
  •  Learn equipment and compactor operation.
  • Job readiness and industry math
  • Career pathway opportunity
  • Over 90% of graduates secure employment.

Minimum Application Requirements

Be an authorized NYCHA resident.

18+ years of age

Achieve a qualifying score on the entrance assessment Interest in janitorial industry.

CONSTRUCTION TRAINING

8 WEEKS OF FULL-TIME IN-PERSON TRAINING

  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • 16 hr. Suspended Scaffolding
  • 4 hr. Asbestos Awareness
  • 4 hr. Confined Space Hazard Awareness
  • Site Safety Training- SST Certifications
  • Access to employment referrals & union apprenticeships

COVID-19 Vaccination required to enroll in training.

Minimum Application Requirements:
Must be an authorized NYCHA resident or NYCHA Section 8 tenant Obtain a qualifying score on the Reading and Math Assessment 18+ years of age and have a High School Diploma/GED

PEST CONTROL TRAINING

3 WEEKS OF FULL-TIME REMOTE AND IN-PERSON TRAINING

Achieve a qualifying score on the entrance assessment.

Interest in the Pest Control industry

Able to be on your feet for 8 hours/day

Preparation for the NYS Pesticide Certification exam (7a) Exam Fees included.
