The Bronx Workforce1 Industrial Transportation Career Center is presenting employment & job training opportunities for NYCHA residents. Workforce 1 provides services that will prepare and connect qualified candidates to employment and training opportunities in New York City.

Candidates who attend this Workforce 1 event will be granted the fast-track privileges to utilize Workforce 1 services and have the opportunity to meet with employers!

Employment Opportunities Include:

Walking Messenger

Pay Rate: $15/hr.

Requirement:

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Must be comfortable walking for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 60lbs
  • Must have flexible schedule
  • You must be physically able to lift up to 50 / pull a hand truck which can weigh up to 200 lbs. You must be able to walk 20-25 blocks and have excellent time management.

Our busiest days are Saturday, Sunday and Monday, if employed you will be expected to be available at least 2 of those 3 days, if not all 3 days.

We are very customer service focused, so it is important that you do have good customer service skills.

Warehouse Associate

Requirement: Must have forklift, electric pallet jack, cherry picking experience.

Transportation – Non CDL – Amazon or Fresh Direct Delivery Driver

Amazon Contractor – Non CDL Delivery Driver

Pay Rate: $17 per hour

Requirement

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must be able to navigate a delivery van, sprinter vehicle
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs independently
  • Customer Service Focused and Retention Minded
  • Bronx routes

Must be able to work on Sundays

CDL C Ambulate Driver

  • Bronx Routes
  • $16-$18 depending on experience
  • Quick Start
  • Must have CDLC license

CDL A & B (various opportunities)

Construction – Must have OSHA 30, SST and at least 6 months of construction experience
