WHAT DO I EARN AT SSBx?

  • Training in basic construction and building operation techniques to increase energy efficiency in residential and commercial properties
  • Hands-on experience in carpentry, electrical, and plumbing repair and maintenance
  • Professional skills such as interviewing, communication, resumes, and cover letters
  • Access to employment specialists for job leads and placement assistance
  • Up to 12 industry certifications, including OSHA-30 Construction, HAZWOPER, and Flagging for FREE!

WHAT DO I NEED TO QUALIFY?

  • Must be interested in a career in Building Maintenance or Green Construction, and be able to perform manual labor
  • Must be at least 18 years of age at time of enrollment
  • Must pass the TABE test with an 8th grade math and reading level
  • Must be legally able to work in the U.S.
  • Must be ready to work full-time and attend training Monday through Friday, 9am – 5pm for 12 weeks Please note that in addition to these requirements, applicants are assessed based on their professional skills and ability to commit to the program; acceptance is not guaranteed.
