AHRC Train & Earn/Learn & Earn Program
- The program is open for youth 16-24 years of age are out of school, currently unemployed and do not have a college degree. Individuals with disabilities are welcome
- Learn various janitorial techniques such as high and low dusting, sweeping and mopping floors, washing walls, glass, mirror, chrome polishing, sanitization of bathrooms, buffing floors, dusting furniture and other fixtures, proper disposal of garbage, and handling various types of cleaning supplies. Training in landscaping and snow removal services is available in addition to janitorial training.
- Hands-on training in a variety of janitorial tasks at renowned NYC healthcare institutions using aseptic techniques and OSHA training including standard precautions. Program offers paid internship component.
- Career counseling to help you sort out what you really want for the future, which includes resume preparation and interview coaching.
- Classroom training to improve your reading, writing, mathematics abilities and financial literacy.
Learn & Earn Program
Learn the professional communication skills you need to be successful in the world of employment:
- Resume Building – Interviewing Skills – Time Management
- Teamwork – Career Planning – Financial Planning
- As a Learn & Earn you will receive 2 weeks of paid orientation prior to the internship, 10 weeks of paid internship, work readiness training, job counseling.
Offering opportunities to:
- Prepare for College Admission – Job Placement Assistance – Financial Aid Education
- Earn up to $3,900.00 while you intern, through our 12 week program, while pursuing the career of your choice!
Current internship offerings include: Retail – Maintenance – Culinary Arts – Office Administration
At the end of the internship, you will receive 9 months of assistance in finding and keeping a job or successfully continuing your education and/or training goals. Learn & Earn is offered to people ages 16 to 24 who are out of school, not employed, and who do not have a college degree.
You will need to present the following:
- Photo ID – Proof of age – Proof of Address – Proof of eligibility to work
