Brooklyn Neighborhood Services (BNS) home-buyer education class is a HUD-certified class on the home buying process.

The 8-hour class discusses the following:

• Mortgage qualification

• Credit and debt management

• Finding a home

• Inspections and appraisals

• Grant programs available to first-time home-buyers

• Hear from industry professionals (mortgage bankers, realtors, inspectors, insurance agents)

• Receive a home-buyer certificate (good for 1 year) upon completion of the class

Follow these steps to register for this event in the NYCHA self-service portal – https://selfserve.nycha.info/

1. Register for online access & log-in to self-service portal https://selfserve.nycha.info/ which will allow you to manage your own events.
2. Once you are logged in, Click “View Details.”
3. Click “Opportunity Connect” on the bottom left side.
4. Click “Upcoming Events” on the left side.
5. Select “Query.”
6. Go to the “Event Name” column.
7. Type exactly as shown here (case sensitive): BNS December 2018
8. Press Enter.
9. Click “View Details.“
10. Click “RSVP.“
11. Check your email for confirmation once you RSVP. Check “My Events” to see all of your scheduled events.
