Information Session: Community Health Worker Training Program

LaGuardia Community College’s Division of Adult and Continuing Education is recruiting for the HRSA Community Health Worker (CHW) Certificate Training.

This comprehensive program prepares learners to enter or advance in the workplace as a CHW and provides instruction, activities, and a required 125-hour internship.

Past graduates have been hired as CHWs, health coaches, and patient care navigators at recognized health care organizations and hospitals in New York City. NYCHA residents must be 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalency to apply. In-person evening classes will begin November 4, 2024.

Minimum Application Requirements:

·       Be 18 years or older and seeking full-time employment within the healthcare industry.

·       Obtain a passing score on a reading, writing, and computer assessment.

·       Be a US citizen or a permanent resident.

·       Have a High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.

·       Be available to attend IN-PERSON classes on 3 – 4 weekday evenings and Saturday classes for the duration of the training.

·       Have access to computer or laptop to complete assignments.
