The FDNY is hiring for more Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) and Emergency Medical Specialist (EMS) Trainees. Working in FDNY Emergency Medical Services is a rewarding career where you will help to save lives each day, while serving as an influencer for the next generation in communities around the five boroughs. Join their team of highly-trained first responders and answer the call to provide the best pre-hospital patient care to the residents, employees and visitors of New York City. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, November 26.

 

This event has (2) parts: an in-person Information Session, followed by a filing process to join the FDNY. Once you register for the event, you will be scheduled for a 1-hour slot during the 3-hour Info Session window. Please bring the following mandatory documents to the Info Session for filing:

Requirements for EMT Candidates Only:

By the last day of the DCAS Civil Service Application Period, you must have:

-A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent (GED or Foreign high school equivalent)

-A valid NYS DOH EMT-B certification; or

-A valid NYS DOH EMT-P certification

*Please note that if you hold an EMT-P certification you will be hired to work as an EMT-B only!

Requirements for EMS Trainee Candidates Only:

-A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent (GED or Foreign high school equivalent); and

-Six months of full-time satisfactory employment; or

-Full-time U.S. Military service with an Honorable Discharge
