Andromeda Community Initiative Inc., in partnership with NYCHA REES, will host an in-person information session at their Long Island City training facility about the free 8-week Green Construction training program beginning mid-September 2024.

Attendees must be at least 18 years old and be a NYCHA resident of Astoria Houses, Queensbridge Houses, Ravenswood Houses, or a NYCHA section 8 voucher holders residing in the zip-code areas of 11101, 11102, or 11106.

 ACI’s Green Construction Training Program Certifications Include:

• NYC DOB 10-Hour Site Safety Training Card (SST)
• 30-Hour OSHA Occupational Safety and Health Training
• NYC DOB 4-Hour Supported Scaffold User
• NYC DOB 16-Hour Suspended Scaffold User
• Andromeda Academy 2-Hour Silica Awareness Training
• DOT 4-Hour Flaggers
• GPRO-M
• EPA 608 Refrigerants

Program Eligibility Requirements:

• NYCHA resident of Western Queens with a zip-code of 11101, 11102, or 11106
• Must be at least 18 years old

• Interest in the construction industry
• Seeking full-time work
• Ability to communicate in English (read & write)
• Comfortable working at heights

Time: 2:00 p.m. (2-hour meeting. Please arrive between 1:45pm-2:00pm.)
