The New York City Housing Authority’s (NYCHA) Office of Resident Economic Empowerment and Sustainability (REES) is partnering with financial counseling providers throughout New York City to connect NYCHA residents with this service.

During a financial counseling session, NYCHA residents will meet one-on-one with a trained financial counselor to create a plan and to set financial goals. Counselors at REES partners can meet several times to address the financial needs of NYCHA residents. Financial counseling services are free and all resident information will be kept confidential, from third parties, including NYCHA.

Financial counseling services from REES partners can help NYCHA Residents:

    • Create a realistic budget
    • Manage and pay down debt
    • Establish or improve credit
    • Get an affordable bank account
    • Better manage rent payments and other bills
    • Increase savings
