Job Readiness
REES partner organizations provide essential tools and services to help NYCHA residents prepare and search for employment. Job readiness services are offered by workforce development organizations throughout New York City to prepare job seekers for a variety of employment opportunities.
REES has created workforce development partnerships to help empower NYCHA residents to establish and/or increase earnings through employment.
Workforce development programs offer the following types of job readiness services:
- Interview techniques, such as pointers for expressing your experience, availability, and technical skills to employers
- Advice on what employers look for when they are interviewing job applicants, including grooming policies and etiquette
- Technical training on how to effectively draft:
- Resume (electronic)
- References
- Cover letter
- Thank you letter
Many employers require you to provide documentation of your eligibility to work in the United States. It is important to have proper identification ready.
REES workforce development partners are trained professional that specialize in helping individuals obtain employment during a tough economy.
