CUNY Fatherhood Academy will be presenting a virtual job information session for NYCHA residents.

The CUNY Fatherhood Academy is a free CUNY program for NYC fathers ages 18–30, offering GED/HSE prep, college prep, parenting workshops, counseling, job readiness training, OMNY cards, and stipends at LaGuardia, Hostos, and Kingsborough Community Colleges.

Eligibility

General requirements include:

• NYC resident
• Father or expecting father
• Age 18–30
• Commitment to completing the program
• Specific track requirements:
  • HSE Track: No high school diploma required.
  • College Prep Track: HS diploma/HSE/GED, fewer than 12 college credits, not currently enrolled in college.

Date:  Tuesday, September 15th, 2026

Time:  11:00 am – 12:00 pm

Location: Zoom

Follow these steps to register for this event in Opportunity Connect on the NYCHA self-service portal:

1. Register for online access and/or log in to the NYCHA self-service portal https://selfserve.nycha.info/
2. Once you are logged in, click on “Manage Your Account.”
3. Click on the “Opportunity Connect” icon.
4. Go to “Upcoming Events” on the left menu.
5. Select CUNY Fatherhood Academy 9-15-2026 on the list of upcoming events and click on “view details”.
6. You must read and confirm the “Information Sharing and Consent Statement” to continue to the final RSVP step.
7. Click “RSVP”.

Check your email for confirmation once you RSVP. Note: In Opportunity Connect you can check “My Events” on the left menu at any time to see all your scheduled events. You can also cancel or reschedule.
