NYCHA Childcare Business Pathways Program
Do you enjoy taking care of CHILDREN? Grow your love for kids into a profitable home-based CHILDCARE BUSINESS!
The NYCHA Childcare Business Pathways (CBP) is a FREE business accelerator program only for NYCHA public housing residents who want to start or grow their own home-based day care business. CBP is a collaboration between the New York City Housing Authority’s Office of Resident Economic Empowerment & Sustainability (REES), New York City Department of Small Business Services (SBS), Business Outreach Center Network (BOCNET), Childcare Development Support Corporation (CDSC), and Citi Community Development.
Follow these steps to register for this event in the NYCHA self-service portal – https://selfserve.nycha.info/
- Register for online access & log-in to self-service portal https://selfserve.nycha.info/ which will allow you to manage your own events.
- Once you are logged in, Click “View Details.”
- Click “Opportunity Connect” on the bottom left side.
- Click “Upcoming Events” on the left side.
- Select “Query.”
- Go to the “Event Name” column.
- Type exactly as shown here (case sensitive): Childcare Manhattan September 2017
- Press Enter.
- Click “View Details.“
- Click “RSVP.“
- Check your email for confirmation once you RSVP. Check “My Events” to see all of your scheduled events.

CBP will assist NYCHA public housing residents in the following areas:
- Training and certification process
- Business education
- Grants for required childcare supplies
- Technical assistance on various types of home-based childcare businesses (click here for more info):
- Family childcare
- Group childcare
- Legally exempt
Residents accepted into the program receive:
- A FREE, 15-week, intensive business course tailored to meet the needs of “NYCHApreneurs” (NYCHA entrepreneurs) with a passion for starting their home-based childcare business
- Grants to pay for required childcare trainings, certifications, and start-up supplies
- Business coaching to move your home-based childcare business forward
